ECOZEPT is a German-French based private market research and marketing consulting agency that is engaged, since its foundation in 2000, in the matter of sustainable agro-food markets. A main weight lies on the research and development of market intelligence systems and marketing approaches for the niche markets in the agro-food business (organic products, regional products, typical products etc.). Partner of research and teaching institutions, ECOZEPT is part of an active network of similar agencies, governmental institutions, the agro-food industry (foremost SME) and extension services in Germany and France, but as well in other European countries. Out of the team of eleven agriculture and marketing experts nine are working at the headquarters in Freising, next to Munich (Germany) while two persons are working in the French office in Montpellier.

Agricultural engineer, PhD on Organic markets in Germany, Burkhard Schaer co-founded Ecozept in 2000.Numerous projects on food marketing for private enterprises, research bodies and government agencies in different countries. Implication in European research projects like IMPACT, DOLPHINS, SUS-CHAIN, TYPIC, TRACE, QLIF.Teaching activities:Teaches food marketing (guest lecturer) at ENSA.M, ENITA.C, ISEM (France) Technical University of Munich and University of Hohenheim (Stuttgart, Germany). Different other teaching & training institutions (chambers of agriculture, chambers of industry and commerce).

Agricultural engineer: Agricultural Sciences at the Humboldt University of Berlin, Agricultural Economics at the University of Göttingen; Master degree in 2007
Employee of ECOZEPT GbR, Freising, Germany since 2009.
Fields of business activities: food marketing and consulting, with focus on the organic market in Germany and Europe. Organization of the bavarian serie of events for the development of the marketing of organic products (Bayerische Öko-Erlebnistage). Analysis of the organic sector in Germany, in particular, the value-added chains of mother cows, milk, poultry, cereals, organic aquaculture. Other topics of specialization are organic retail & regional marketing as well as organic aquaculture.
